It
may sound like such a simple thing, but keeping the bolts, screws, and
knobs properly tightened on your office chairs will significantly improve
the length of use you get from them. Most manufacturers recommend that
you check all bolts, screws, and knobs about every six months. You may
need to do so more often in high use situations.
Most chair controls are mounted
to the underside of the seat with 4 6 bolts or screws. Some chairs
may have a back that is attached to the underside of the seat in a similar
fashion. If the chair has arms that are not made into the body of the
chair, there will be bolts or screws attaching them. A chair may also
have knobs to adjust back height or seat depth.
Generally, the only tools
that may be required are a 3/8 or 7/16 wrench, a phillips head screwdriver,
or sometimes an allen wrench. The key is to remember to do it!
